Website Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 24 June 2026
Our Commitment
Brela Technologies & Media Limited is committed to making brela.agency accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that an accessible website is not just a legal or ethical obligation — it is good design. A site that works for users with visual impairments, motor limitations, or cognitive differences is a better site for everyone.
Standards We Aim For
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the internationally recognised standard for accessible web content, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA conformance means our website aims to be:
- Perceivable — content is presented in ways all users can perceive, regardless of their sensory abilities
- Operable — users can navigate and use the site regardless of their input method
- Understandable — content and navigation are clear and consistent
- Robust — content can be interpreted reliably by assistive technologies including screen readers
Current Accessibility Features
- Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3)
- Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds
- All interactive elements (forms, buttons, links) are keyboard-navigable
- Links have descriptive text rather than ‘click here’ or ‘read more’
- Forms are labelled clearly and include error messages that identify the issue
- The site is functional without JavaScript where possible
- Page titles are descriptive and unique
Known Limitations
While we aim for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we acknowledge that some areas of the site may not fully meet this standard at all times, particularly:
- Third-party embedded content (maps, video players) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control
- Older PDF documents in our resource library may not be fully accessible — we are working to update these
- Some complex interactive components may not provide the optimal experience for all assistive technology users — we actively work to improve these
How We Test
We test accessibility using a combination of:
- Automated testing tools (Google Lighthouse, axe DevTools)
- Manual keyboard navigation testing
- Screen reader testing (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS/iOS)
- User feedback
